Concert Chorus

For Singers in 5th - 12th Grade

Concert Chorus offers a world-class children’s chorus experience to our middle school and some high school singers. Concert choristers expand their vocal ranges and learn key signatures, more difficult sight-singing concepts, and complex rhythmic patterns. They also learn how to sing in unison, two and three parts, and a cappella. Repertoire includes classic and contemporary works and pieces from different style periods and cultures, and singers develop a professional standard of deportment and focus.

Concert Chorus meets 2 times per week for a total of 2.5 hours of rehearsal. In addition to 2 major concerts with the Treble and Touring ensembles (December and May), Concert choristers participate in 2-3 local performances and have opportunities to perform with local arts organizations and/or at a summer festival for young voices.

An audition is required, but no prior singing experience is necessary. The audition is an opportunity for potential singers to meet with the ensemble conductor and for the conductor to find out where singers will find the most success at Anima! Singers do not need to prepare anything in advance for their audition.
