KidSingers Instructor

KidSingers introduces kindergarten students to the basic fundamentals of music through song, dance, and play. Classes are inspired by the Kodály philosophy of music education; musical concepts are prepared through songs, games, and dances; presented when the students are ready; and practiced throughout this eight-week course. The KidSingers instructor will have access to a large collection of folk songs, as well, and the Artistic Director of Anima – Glen Ellyn Children’s Chorus for guidance, while also having the autonomy to choose their own repertoire.

KidSingers runs three eight-week sessions throughout the program year – Fall, Winter, and Spring. Each session culminates in a recital that is held on the last class of each session. Families can choose between the KidSingers Blue (classes on Mondays) and KidSingers Green (classes on Thursdays). All classes are from 4:30-5:15 p.m. and are currently held at the Main St. Recreation Center (501 Hill Ave, Glen Ellyn, IL). Candidates can apply to teach one or both days of the week depending on individual availability.
